At Sunny Disability, we are aware of the pressures caring for a loved one with a disability may pose. Maintaining one’s dignity and independence is paramount to sustaining a sense of wellbeing and self-harmony.
As much as others may wish to assist in the journey of care, we realise that this is not always a feasible long-term option. This is where our gifted, and experienced team can be there to ease the pressures and assist, for you and your family to be able to enjoy life to the fullest with ease of mind that that your loved one is being cared for with upmost respect and a high level of care.
We will work with you to tailor specific care packages, encompassing all your requirements and needs.
This care will allow you more freedom to enjoy time with friends and family and go about daily tasks stress free.
We are aware of maintaining both privacy and dignity and can render assistance with the following:
Toileting, Bathing & Showering
Personal Grooming
Dressing
Meal preparation
Continence care
Skin care & Oral Hygiene
Mobility assistance
Fitting of aids
Assistance with food and beverage consumption

In-home care and support services are all about keeping you healthy, keeping you safe in your own home, and ensuring you are still able to interact with the community. Services can include personal care, food preparation and meal assistance, domestic assistance, general house cleaning, home maintenance, home modification, assistive technology, transport, social support and more.
A Home Care Package (HCP) is for those who require more complex care. There are four levels of HCP’s to help meet the different levels of care needs.
You may be eligible for an HCP if you have:
Noticed a change in what you can do or remember
Been diagnosed with a medical condition or reduced mobility
Experienced a change in family care arrangements.
Experienced a recent fall or hospital admission.
The government will subsidise the cost of your care if you are eligible for a HCP. Depending on your financial situation, you may be asked to contribute towards the cost. This may include any fees associated with the management of your package from your home care service provider

Community participation involves engaging in various activities and events offered within the community, to promote social inclusion, independence, and further skill development. Examples of these activities may include but are not limited to:
• Volunteering
• Sports and recreation
• Arts and culture
• Community groups
• Education and learning
• Community events
• Social outings
• Advocacy and Leadership
• Support groups
Integration into the social standings of the community, are pivotal as it fosters a sense of belonging, independence, and social connection. It also presents opportunities for skill building, personal growth, and further development of meaningful relationships within the community.
Sunny disability carers support individuals in accessing and participating in these activities based on their individual goals and interests.

We understand that each case presents differently, and our aptly trained carers can support individuals categorised in either level 2 or 3, regardless of perplexity.
